Tracy Krumm’s crocheted wire sculptures are delicate and fleeting, airy and light. Gracefully sweeping through the space they inhabit, one can capture the same feeling the work seems to project. The simplicity and lightness of the work are quite deceiving, considering the work and meticulousness that was required to create the pieces.  Her alluring forms blend blacksmithing and crocheted nets of delicate wire lace that are often combined with found elements of metal, stone, and glass. “My work is grounded in the histories of sculpture and women’s work. It involves the investigation and juxtaposition of historically gender-specific techniques, such as crochet and blacksmithing, to question and comment on identity, duality, relationships and beauty. “
