Since its inception in 1994, the Duane Reed Gallery has been recognized as one of the premier galleries in the Midwest representing and exhibiting internationally recognized contemporary artists working in the fields of glass, ceramics, painting, photography, and fiber. The gallery has been committed to showcasing innovative, established and emerging artists working both figuratively and abstractly. Works of notable artists including Dale Chihuly, Michael Lucero, Rudy Autio, Michael Eastman, Marvin Lipofsky, Joseph Piccillo, Jenny Pohlman and Sabrina Knowles are on view regularly.
The gallery has participated in numerous national art exhibitions since its opening, including Sculpture, Objects and Functional Art (SOFA) held each year in Chicago and New York, Art Palm Beach, Art Miami, FLOW Miami, the Palm Springs International Art Show, Town & Country Art Exposition in Palm Beach, and the Dallas International Art Fair in Texas.
With over 35 years of collective experience in the art world, the Duane Reed Gallery is a valuable resource for collectors, consultants, artists, museums, and curators. We are available to assist in a variety of areas including the development of collections, acquisition of artwork, and consultation for corporate and public spaces. The gallery has played a key role in the selection and placement of works in many corporate and public collections around the world. Gallery artists are represented in major museum collections including the Museum of Art + Design, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Musee des arts Decoratifs in Lausanne, Switzerland among others.
Situated in a 4,400+ sq. ft. space in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis, near the Chase Park Plaza Hotel and other restaurants, galleries and shops, the gallery plays an ongoing active roll in a vibrant arts community. The Duane Reed Gallery continues to evolve the artists it represents and methods of presentation to continue bringing quality works of art and exhibitions to its patrons.

Duane Reed, Owner and Founder, opened the gallery in his name in 1994 where he has represented a number highly successful contemporary artists including: Dale Chihuly, Albert Paley, Wendell Castle, Bennett Bean, Rudy Autio, William Morris and others. He has over 18 years of professional experience in the art world and is nationally regarded as an expert in multi-media art with a particular focus on glass art. Duane is highly regarded for his passionate commitment to the representation of national and international artists with special attention to introducing select artists working in fiber, glass and ceramics. Exemplary of his expertise, Duane has curated over 300 exhibitions both at his gallery as well as others and has lectured on a variety of art topics. Reed received a B. A. from William Jewel College in 1978; a small liberal arts college just outside of Kansas City as well as attending Harlaxton College in England in 1977. Duane Reed has included membership with the Renwick Gallery Caucus, The Mint Museum's Founder's Circle, Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, American Craft Council, AIDA (Association of Israeli Decorative Arts), and the St. Louis Gallery Association.

Daniel McGrath, Gallery Assistant Director, received his BFA from UCLA and his Military History MA from King's College London, University of London. He has worked at a variety of museums including The UCLA Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, The Imperial War Museum, London, a large number of private galleries in Los Angeles and as an art Registrar at the University of Arizona. He is currently an adjunct professor in art history at Webster University, St. Louis in addition to working as our Assistant Director. |

Merrill Strauss, Art Consultant, works directly with curators and collectors offering art consulting and sales assistance with special attention on educating the buyer throughout the acquisition and curatorial process. Strauss handles the art consultation during the gallery's exhibitions at SOFA Chicago and New York and other national shows. Before joining Duane Reed Gallery in 1996, Merrill gained valuable creative and business experience in a wide variety of industries including: interior design, public relations, marketing/sales, and business. Merrill is an advocate for the arts and culture in St. Louis with leadership roles on various committees including: Lucky Lane Nursery School, Women's Division of Jewish Federation, Dance St. Louis, FOCUS St. Louis and Temple Israel.
